Acceptable Use & Anti-Spam Policy
Last updated: May 23, 2026 · velone.in
Velone exists to deliver wanted email. This Acceptable Use Policy ("AUP") sets the rules every sender on our platform must follow. It protects recipients, our customers, and the shared sending reputation we all rely on. Breaking these rules can lead to throttling, suspension or termination. The AUP is part of our Terms of Service.
The one rule that matters most: only send email to people who have given you clear, provable permission to receive it. No purchased, rented, scraped or harvested lists — ever.
01 Permission required
You may only send to recipients who have opted in to receive mail from you — for example by signing up for your product, making a purchase, or explicitly subscribing. You must be able to show, on request, when and how each recipient consented. The following are strictly prohibited:
- Purchased, rented, leased, scraped, or harvested email lists.
- Addresses collected without a clear indication that the person would receive email.
- Sending to recipients who have unsubscribed or marked your mail as spam.
02 Prohibited content & uses
You may not use Velone to send or facilitate:
- Spam or unsolicited bulk email of any kind.
- Phishing, spoofing, fraud, or deceptive "from", subject or routing information.
- Malware, viruses, ransomware, or links to malicious or deceptive sites.
- Content that is unlawful, defamatory, harassing, hateful, or that infringes others' rights.
- Child sexual abuse material, or content that exploits or endangers minors.
- Pump-and-dump, illegal gambling, pirated material, or other illegal schemes.
- Mail on behalf of industries or content prohibited by our payment or infrastructure providers.
We may decline or restrict categories of mail that carry elevated abuse risk.
03 Honest identification
Every message you send must:
- Use accurate, non-misleading "From", "To", "Reply-To" and subject lines that reflect the real sender and purpose.
- Be sent from a domain you own or are authorised to use, and that you have properly authenticated (SPF, DKIM, DMARC).
- Include a valid physical postal address for marketing mail, as required by laws such as CAN-SPAM and equivalent regulations.
04 Unsubscribe & list hygiene
- Marketing and bulk mail must include a clear, working unsubscribe mechanism. Velone adds one-click
List-Unsubscribeheaders (RFC 8058) to help you comply. - You must honour opt-out requests promptly — within 10 days at the latest, and immediately where required.
- You must remove invalid and complaining addresses and keep your lists clean. Velone maintains suppression lists to help, but list quality is your responsibility.
05 Bounce & complaint limits
High bounce and complaint rates signal that mail is unwanted and damage everyone's deliverability. Velone monitors sending continuously. As a guideline, sustained hard-bounce rates above 5% or spam-complaint rates above 0.1% may trigger automatic throttling or suspension of the offending sender pending review. Keep your engagement healthy and your lists current to stay well within these limits.
06 Security & keys
- Keep your API keys secret; never embed them in client-side code or public repositories.
- Do not attempt to probe, scan, overload, or circumvent the Service's security, rate limits or isolation between accounts.
- Do not resell or provide open relay access that would let third parties send unvetted mail through your account.
07 Enforcement
We investigate suspected violations and may, at our discretion: warn you, throttle or pause sending, suspend or terminate your account, and remove offending content. Serious cases — such as spam, phishing or illegal content — may result in immediate suspension without prior notice, and may be reported to the appropriate authorities. We may cooperate with law-enforcement and anti-abuse organisations.
08 Reporting abuse
If you received unwanted or abusive mail sent through Velone, or believe a sender is violating this policy, please tell us. Include the full message headers if you can.
